Throughout the year it is possible to see a huge variety of wildlife, birds and endangered species. The incredible Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra that arrives each year from the Serengeti into the Maasai Mara National Reserve earned the park the status of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, being the only migration of its kind in the world.

Under the spectacular backdrop of snow capped Kilimanjaro huge herds of elephants roam Amboseli National Reserve and further north the endangered black rhino, Grevy’s zebra and wild dogs of the Northen Rangelands. Kenya's National Parks and game reserves provide incredible wildlife viewing experiences and endless inspiration for Amy's wildlife art, bird and animal paintings.

Amy regularly travels with her husband, photographer, Elsen Karstad, throughout the country in their light aircraft to closely observe the behaviour and mannerisms of animals and birds in their natural habitats. She takes her detailed sketches, photos and notes back to her rooftop studio in Nairobi to create a series of art works in oils - from miniature oil paintings to large scale wildlife paintings.
